Trembles of Fortune is the solo project of Geoff Thevenot, a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from the Chicago area. Trembles of Fortune's sound brings together classic 70s west coast studio rock and early 80s cerebral pop, providing a sophisticated and soulful backdrop for stories and observations of all-too-human frailties and indecision. The lush arrangements and smooth, insistent grooves often belie the world-weary edge underneath, but there's hope and spirit here as well. The new Trembles of Fortune album, Next Parade Out of Town, is scheduled for release in late 2026 - the first single (The Devil Didn't Make You Do Anything) came out in August. The new album follows 2020's Sucker in the Promised Land and the self-titled debut album from 2018. The Trembles of Fortune song Turn Out the Lights was reviewed on the Yacht or Nyacht podcast (hosted by the creators of the Yacht Rock web series), who certified the song as being yacht rock. Trembles of Fortune songs have been featured on The Border from Late Night Dream, UP Radio, Yacht Rock Miami, and other internet and terrestrial radio outlets in various countries around the world.
