Trembles of Fortune

Trembles of Fortune is the solo project of Geoff Thevenot, a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from the Chicago area. Trembles of Fortune's sound brings together classic 70s west coast studio rock and early 80s cerebral pop, providing a sophisticated and soulful backdrop for stories and observations of all-too-human frailties and indecision. The lush arrangements and smooth, insistent grooves often belie the world-weary edge underneath, but there's hope and spirit here as well. Trembles of Fortune's self-titled debut was released in 2018, and the follow-up, Sucker in the Promised Land, was released in March 2020. Songs from Sucker in the Promised Land have been featured on The Border from Late Night Dream, UP Radio, and other Internet and terrestrial radio outlets in various countries around the globe.
